There are plenty of homestays inside Calicut city, and some of them are lovely. If you're in town for a wedding, a hospital appointment or meetings on Mavoor Road, stay in the city. The traffic between Kozhikode and anywhere else can eat an hour of your day.
If you're here to rest, to eat well and to see a bit of Malabar, it's worth driving out. BelleVue is in Kunnathara, a village near Koyilandy, on the bank of the Korapuzha. You trade a 45-minute drive into the city for a quiet room, a pool you share with at most three other rooms, and a jetty where the only noise in the morning is fishermen calling to each other.
You get the house, not a hotel corridor. Four air-conditioned rooms with their own bathrooms, a living room, a dining table where meals arrive hot from the kitchen, and a long garden down to the river.
The food is the part people write about. Breakfast is Kerala-style or simple continental. For lunch and dinner, ask for Malabar fish curry, chicken or mutton, or a full vegetarian sadya. If you'd like to host relatives for a meal while you're here, ask us.

From Kozhikode city centre it's about 26 km, usually 45 minutes, heading north towards Koyilandy and then inland to Kunnathara. From Kozhikode railway station it's 28 km, and from Calicut International Airport at Karipur it's 49 km, about 1 hour 20 minutes. We can send a car to the airport or station. You won't find a better homestay in Kozhikode! Bellevue offers amenities that are on par with a resort. Chef Muneera serves the most authentic and delicious Malabari cuisine.
We had a memorable stay at Belle Vue home stay with our 2 furries. The rooms were impeccable and clean. The view of the backwaters outstanding.
Very well maintained, super clean and riverside property offers one of the best stay with gym, pool and a small counter bar, barbecue/grill, music setup along with peaceful location.

The biryani and chicken 65, in particular, deserve special mention. The boat ride was a memorable highlight of our trip.

Yes. There's a mini kids park, a long garden to run around in, and the kitchen is happy to cook simple food for small children. Cots are free for children up to 3 years. Children aged 11 and above are counted as adults. The river is open water, so please keep an eye on little ones near the jetty.
